A Perfect Summer Activiity~~ Strawberry Picking :)

Salam....
It is Summer, it is sometimes too hot just like in Malaysia, and sometimes it is cold... But not too cold... Just nice I would say ;)
And every Summer, it is a must to go for Strawberry picking!!

Yeah, we went for it two weeks ago, it was a hectic wekend;
On Friday we went to a friend's house to celebrate their kids birthday, got home late at night, then on Saturday early in the morning we'd left for Bonn, for Flohmarkt (something like carboot).
This time we didn't go there to buy anything, but we just wanted to give Afeef a chance to try something which he had been asking for so long...
He'd always  wanted to sell some of his stuffs in Flohmarkt, and..... well yeah, he made it this time after so long of contemplating on how, when and where should we start...  and he earned 9euro selling his things.. Ok lah, not bad for a beginner.. InsyaAllah when I'm in the mood to write more, I'll share that Flohmarkt story.
Also, we had a little picnic with some friends in Bonn, touched by their effort to meet us, then lepaking at a friend's house until about 9pm, then drove home and reached home late at night haha, then on Sunday we went for strawberry picking! And also Sunflower field hunting again!! It was fun!

This was the Birthday's celebration of the world's cutest kids other than my kids haha!

The next day: Photoshoot at Flohmarkt before we looked for our friends and their spot...

The next day: Sunday, we went hunting for Sunflower field, but unfortunately, it wasn't ready yet....
Kinda frustrated because I kinda looked forward to this one... Really is crazy over Sunflowers...

And also, Strawberry picking!
Mmmmmm... Nyum nyum nyum...

Ready kids??!!!
Yihaaaaaaaaa...!!

And lastly...

When there's lots of Strawberries, it is always a must that I make this...

 Strawberry Shortcake!!
Really is delicious! Maybe the freshly picked Strawberries contributed to the extra delicious taste.

Really easy to make, all you gonna need:

~~ A spongecake. You can bake it yourself or buy the ready made.
~~ 300g Cream Cheese.
~~ 250ml Whipping cream.
~~ 1/2 cup of sugar.
~~ A teaspoon Vanilla essence.
~~ Lots and lots of Strawberries.

Method:
1: Cut your sponge cake into 3 layers. Put aside.
2: Mix cream cheese ang Sugar thoroughly using a mixer. Add in Vanilla. Mix some more.
3: Add in Whipping cream and continue mixing until the batter becomes fluffy.
4: Spread the batter evenly on the first layer of sponge cake, arrange cut strawberries nicely on top of it, then cover with another layer of sponge cake. And repeat procedure until you finish everything!
Done!!!
A perfect dessert for Summer!

Ok, that's all for today.. More stories later, insyaAllah...
Afeef had Karate tournament last Saturday, can't wait to write about that when I have the time..

Yesterday, I saw this photo on my brother's FB wall...
It was uploaded over a week ago, but only yesterday I'd noticed it.. huhu...
Ini lah akibatnya kalau malas ber FB...

This is my mom's house in Gombak... (",)
RINDUUUUUUUUUUUU....

Way to go mom...

I'm not a fanatic supporter of any political parties, but I'm a supporter of any efforts in Making Malaysia a real Muslim Country~~
A real Muslim Country...

And of course, people might say, they use religion as a basis to get what they want...

But not him..

And I adore him....

Regardless of whatever political inclination you have, you cannot deny the humbleness of this man as a leader, and his influence to Malaysia and Kelantan specifically...

"When there comes the help of Allah and the Conquest, and that you see the people enter Allah's Religion in crowds, so glorify the praises of your Lord, and ask His forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and Who forgives.." Surah An-Nasr.

Chicken Recipe My Version (",)

Salam...

I wanna share a recipe by accident which turned out surprisingly delicious...
Or maybe I was the only one who felt that way haha..

I was so not in the mood to cook yesterday, so I planned to just fry the chicken. Using actifry, life can be pretty much easy (ade macam ayat iklan hehe) but seriously it does make my life easier. What I did yesterday was, I cut chicken breast into tiny pieces, marinated it with a mixture of blended onions, garlics, ginger, lemongrass, salt, sugar and curry powder. After about an hour I put everything in actifry with only a few drops of oil. Then I switched on the machine.
When it's done cooking, I opened the cover and.... Oh no, it's too dry... A few drops of oil wasn't enough.. It's well cooked but just... Too dry....
Think think think think....

Ok, lets make a lil gravy.... How?

Coconut milk? Arrrrggghhh... Tak de pulak...

Mmmmm... How bout a mixture of milk and whipping cream? Mmmm sounds weird, but really it wasn't so bad.. The idea occurred to me because I had also once tried a recipe from friend's blog similar to this but slightly different, later I'll share that recipe too.

So, layan recipe ni, sape2 yang suka makan nasik kukus ayam dara tu, suka lah recipe ni (",)

Ingredients:

~~ Chicken breast lebih kurang 500g.
~~ Sebijik bawang besar.
~~ 2 ulas garlic.
~~ 2cm Halia.
~~ 2 batang serai.
~~ Curry Powder ikut suka banyak mana.
~~ 1 gelas susu.
~~ Setengah cawan Whipping cream.
~~ 2 sudu besar kerisik diblend halus.
~~ 1 sudu kecik jus lemon.

Method:

Blend semua bawang, garlic, serai, halia. Lumur bersama chicken breast yg dah dipotong2. Letak curry powder, garam dan gula secukup rasa. Biar marinate selama sejam. Tak sejam pun x pe hehe..
Then, goreng aje semua dalam kuali dengan minyak yg sikit sampai garing.

Panaska susu + whipping cream, bila mendidih, masukkan je semua ayam yg dah digoreng tadi dgn serbuk2 nye skali, masukkan kerisik, gula, garam secukup rasa. Last skali masukkan jus perahan lemon. SIAP!!!!

Makan dengan timun, perrrggghhhh ade rasa cam nasik kukus ayam dara ngeh ngeh.. Tapi versi senang, cepat, mudah...

Jadi Housewife ni kena salu fikir cara cepat memasak and yet berkhasiat! Don't wanna waste too much time in the kitchen!

Ok, anyway, some important benefits of Cucumber:

~~> It keeps your body hydrated.
~~> Fight cancers.
~~> Control blood pressure.
~~> Cures diabetes.
~~> Reduces Cholesterol.
~~> Beneficial for teeth and gums.
~~> Aid in weight loss!
~~> Aid in digestion!
For more details, you can read HERE.

So many of us find it hard to teach our kids to eat vegetables and fruits, we often give up halfway.. I know it's not easy, but never stop trying! And most importantly, begin with yourself!
If you want your kids to eat raw cucumber, tomatoes, carrost, salad etc etc, you eat it first, let your kids watch you eat, and then offers it to them. If they refused, it's ok, try again and again, never give up!

This is from my own experience, I've been trying to make my kids love raw vegetables, and now all those efforts paid off. Yesterday, I was so happy to see Fatini and Aleena munching on pieces of cucumber like they're munching on cookies, and one whole of cucumber finished within few minutes!
I've been inspired by German parents, how they managed to make their children love fruits and vegetables! And I've seen it with my own eyes how those kids at Kindergarten eat raw vegetables, and they didn't just eat it, they enjoyed it!
And at Afeef's school, they give free fruits and vegetables every Wednesday! Cool rite...
Afeef who used to hate raw carrots now starting to eat them. Though he didn't really enjoyed it hehehe..

By encouraging your kids to eat raw vegetables, you'll get two benefits:

Not only your kids will be healthier, you get to save your time cooking in the kitchen!

AYam MaSaK KiCaP ~My Version~

Salam....
Dah lama x update pasal makanan, masakan, so today nak share satu masakan simple utk housewife2 yang tetiba mode malas nak memasak atau working mom or dad yang balik kerja nak masak cincai tapi sedap... Hehehe..

Kadang2 malas sangat nak masak sayur, kalau boleh nak masak satu lauk je tapi tak de mood nak makan salad, tapi mesti ade sayur, jadi ape kata sekali harung kan hehehe..

Ok, layan resipi ni and try ok!

Bahan2 tumis :
-- 1 bijik bawang besar
-- 2 ulas bawang putih
-- 2cm Halia
-- 1 Cili besar hiris

Bahan2 lain:
-- Ayam ikut suka.
-- Kicap pekat manis ikut suka banyak mana.
-- Kentang potong2, goreng (saya guna actifry, guna satu sudu besar minyak aje!)

Haaaaa siap! Cepat, senang, berkhasiat!

Sayur Leek ni sangat-sangat masuk dengan masak kicap tau, tak percaya cuba try!

                                             Enjoy!

DuRiaN CRePe, My Version (",)

Salam...

Like I said before, we had a guest last weekend so I've made another round of Durian crepe (",)

This time around, I've made more and slightly different which taste better.

I modified the filling a bit.... all the recipes I've checked on the internet use only whipping cream and durian, but I added cream cheese with wipping cream and durian essence, the result, wow! Not bad! Our friend loved it (",) Alhamdulillah..

Tukang habiskan hingga ke titisan terakhir ialah Mr Hubby!! Yeay bravo!! Clap clap clap!

So, boleh layan my version here:

(A) Ingredients:
~ 250g wheat flour
~ 200 ml coconut milk
~ 200 ml milk
~ 100 ml water
~ 2 Eggs
~ A teaspoonful Vanilla essence
~ A teaspoonful salts
~ Some food colorant.

(B) For the filling :
200g g cream cheese
250ml Whipping cream
3/4 cup sugar
A teaspoonful Durian essence
And lastly isi Durian la..

1~~ Mix all the ingredients in (A) using a mixer until fluffy, then filter the batter into a bowl.
2~~ Heat a lightly oiled nonstick pan and scoop a tiny amount of the batter onto the pan, tilt the pan in a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly.  Refer pic below on the left. (macam bunga Ros pulak kan)
Let it cooked for a few minutes then transfer it to a plate carefully for it tear easily.

Repeat the process until the whole batter finished.
Layer each crepe with a plastic paper to prevent it from sticking to each other. (Pic below on the right)

2nd step, prepare the filling~~~ Mix all ingredients in (B) EXCEPT Durian in a mixer.
Mix throughly until it becomes fluffy.
Then, place about a tablespoon of Durian on the crepe, followed by a tablespoon of mixture (B) and then wrap it!
Repeat for each crepe until everything's finished.
Then place all Durian crepe in the fridge for a few hours before cutting them in half.
Done! And Enjoy!

mmmmmmmmm.... Yummy yummy...

GoOd And NuTriTioUs FoOd.. (",)

Ehem...
mmmmmm.. it's not a food story day just yet, but... can I talk a lil bit bout food?

Ok, It's not a recipe that I wanna share here, nor what I've cooked for today, but I just wanna raise awareness to a healthy eating habit. Haaahh!!
Tetibe jer..! hehe..

But seriously, do you realize that most of us often care for enough food rather than good food?

I remember once, a friend of mine prepared a porridge for her baby, and the porridge was just a porridge,  it consists of a rice, salt and water and nothing else!!
She said, sometimes she add eggs, or just soya sauce!
That's it??!!

No fibers, no proteins (ok there'll be proteins if she add eggs, but eggs all the time??)...
How about vitamins and minerals? Our children needs those more than anything else!

I was shocked, but it hits me instantly when she said;
"It doesn't matter, I just don't want my kid to feel hungry.."
Yeah true, but don't you want your kid to be healthy too?

I don't know, I don't blame her, it's just us, Malaysian people especially, our awareness of good and nutritious food is startlingly low...
We tend to go for the quantity rather than the quality of the food.
It's no one to be blamed, some people really can't afford to have a better food, so their focus is not on nutritious food, but whether or not they have something to feed on..
Oh, this is heart breaking..
Thank you Allah for unlike those who are unfortunate, we have the choice...
"What should I eat today?"
rather than,
"Is there anything to eat?"

Back to my main point, I used to be a mommy who just wanted to make sure my kids weren't hungry too, I never bothered to ensure that they have all the nutrition needed for growth etc etc..
Which explains, why Afeef used to have a daily 'nasik, kicap, telur' routine, because that's the simplest to prepare huhu..
I told you before, I used to be a lazy mommy, huhu..
But not anymore, my mission now is to make sure my children have all the good foods, and I think I've succeeded a little.
From someone who used to hate vegetables especially the raw ones, Afeef now enjoy salad with rice and any kind of side dish.
I make sure he has salad everyday in his meal. And also an apple is a must everyday.
And recently, Fatini and Aleena starting to enjoy salad in their food too!!
So I'm telling you guys all this, so as to share my own experience, and that it's not impossible or too late to start!

Make the right choice, avoid MSG, anything with preservatives, less processed foods, more fruits and vegetables, it's not so difficult actually (",)
It's one thing if you are a grown-up making bad choices for yourself, it's another to make bad choices for the kids, choices that could doom them to lifelong poor health.
Make the right choice today!

Projects, projects...

Salam Jumaat to all... It's been a busy week for me, never felt busier all my life heheheh!!

One of the biggest project for this past week was....

mmmmmmmm...

Heheh, bread making :)
We've just bought a bread maker, so the excitement of making our very own bread is still at its highest peak :)

Well, I hope this is not only temporary hehe..
We've made raisins bread (above photo), and...

Bread with a sosej in the middle, Afeef's favorite :)
And, we've also made white bread, carrot and cinamon bread, and pizza is my next project hehe..
Anyway, I would like to thank my sifu for all this bread making procedure, Cik siti hajar, she gave me lots of tips, and even though I hadn't quite obtained the satisfying results, and my bread didn't look as fluffy and soft as the one she'd made, I refused to be derailed..
I'll try and try again..
Million thanx to Hajar for all her help..
Ape pun, semua roti2 ni tetap sedap and habis di makan :)

And...
Another project that had been going on, apart from bread making was....

Paintings...

mmm.. I'm not really satisfied with this one actually...

But this one here, I'm very2 satisfied.... :)

I've just finished it today, haven't yet hang it anywhere, not sure where I should too...
mmmm...
Kat bawah tepi sebelah kanan tu is actually my signature ye, bukan budak nama Aleena yg conteng hehe!!

And, lastly, I've managed to play and record a new song on Piano..
Lovely2 song, beautiful melody...
The 1st time I've heard it, I fell in love with it straight away, and I tried playing it on my piano :)

Awwwwwwwwwwww....
She loves my piano so much, she loves my drawing so much, she loves my bread so much, and most importantly, she's my background singer in this song I played... hehe
Sila lah dengar haha :)

Hope you like it ;)
Sorry, last part tersilap tekan, nevertheless, I think the melody is sooo lovely.. :)

Till later,
Salam :)

Anyway, last Friday I've received an unexpected parcel, from a sweet friend, Siti Hajar !!!
Siti Hajar lives here too in Germany, in Duisberg, she's always been someone from whom I've often seek advice from, someone who often listens to what I have to say and whenever I needed something, she'd definitely try her best to help !!
Sweet kan ??

So, recently, she had gone back to Malaysia for bout a month and is already back in Deutschland and... look at what she brought for me.. :)
Having something for me is one thing, sending it to my doorstep is another thing, owwhhh I'm touched :)
This really made my day :)

Ehem... blom sempat guna, ada budak dah rasmikan, senyap2 je dia kidnap kat dapur and buat projek rahsia die hehe..
Anyway, acuan muffin ni la yg paling best, dah lama nak buat apam comel2, tapi tak de acuan...

My FiRsT TiRaMiSu !!

Ok, experiment pertama, ialah Tiramisu desperado, turned out to be......
mak aiiii sedap la pulak, rasa cam kek choc moist kat SECRET RECIPE !
Bole caye ke?
hehe tak caya cuba try buat..
Budak2 ni hentam makan setalam, satu hari habis licin..

Cerita nye begini, teringin giller nak makan Tiramisu, tapi malas nak wat sponge cake, carik yg instant pulak, susah nye la nak carik yg halal yet lembut berspan.. ade dengar kawan cakap pasal biskut tiramisu, tapi malas nak carik hehehe..
So last2, buat suka hati guna cake choc moist heheh..

Bila dah lapis ngan cream bagai, perggghhh sedap...

Experiment ke 2;

Tapi rasa tak puas hati sebab belum rasa Tiramisu sebenar, so merajinkan diri pegi carik Biskut Tiramisu ni tu pun sebab cik Zinnirah dah bagitau tempat specific nak carik biskut nih ngeh ngeh..

So, jumpa and cuba lah dengan jayanya, celup2 biskut tu dalam air nescafe, tapi rasa ade kureng jugak, bile guna biskut ni, jadi berair sket, so nak tak nak, wekend nanti I kena bake jugak la sponge cake nampak nye..
Ape pun, rupa ade sket pathetic, tapi rasa nye superb jugak, best and puas hati :)
Dah dekat setalam mama makan sorang hehe.. budak2 x suka pulak sebab ade rasa kopi..
So next week kena la wat aktiviti bakar kalori hehe..

Kalau dah buruk tu tetap la buruk, senget kan kamera ke ape ke, tetap rupa nye camtu ;D
Lastly, before I share the recipe, nak ucap million thanx to CIK SITI HAJAR for guidance and siap suggest link kat SINI utk recipe Tiramisu yg simple.
Thanx again Hajar, dengan ini saya mengisytiharkan,
LAPORAN TIRAMISU SIAP !!

Ok, sape2 nak cuba, ini recipe nye :)

Kalau nak wat ngan kek coklat moist, kena buat dulu cake choc moist nye;

Ingredients:
~~ 2 Cups wheat flour
~~ 1 and a half cup of sugar
~~ 3/4 Cup cocoa powder
~~ 2 eggs
~~ 2 Tspnful baking soda
~~ 1 Tspnful baking powder
~~ 1 Tspnful salts
~~ 1 cup Milk
~~ 1 cup Vege Oil
~~ 1 Tspnfull Vanilla extract
~~ 1 Cup of BOILING hot coffee or 1 cup Boiling water.

Mix all ingredients together and lastly add hot coffee or water.

Bake over medium heat for about 1 hour.
Siap!

Untuk cream nye;

Ingredients:
~~ 1 Pack cream cheese bout 175 gm.
~~ 1 box Whipping Cream, 200 ml.
~~ 1/2 Cup of Sugar
~~ 1 Tspnfull Vanilla Extract.

Mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla using a mixer. Then add Whipping cream. Mix again at low speed until fluffy. Ready to be used :)

Kalau guna cake coklat moist, x payah lembap kan kek dengan air nescafe, terus potong kek beberapa lapis, then layer kan dengan cream cheese tadi, pastu tabur serbuk koko guna tapisan ok. Ulang proses melapis sampai siap and then masuk kan kek ke dalam fridge. Biar sampai sejam or dua jam, then bole la makan. Serius sedap !!

Kalau guna spongecake, kena jugak potong kek beberapa lapis, tapi kena lembap kan kek tu dengan air nescafe tanpa gula. Lepas tu baru la bole mula melapis. Bole tengok SINI untuk tutorial.

Selamat Mencuba !!

Yang ni pulak, projek beribu-ribu pancake hehe.. x de la sampai ribu2, cuma nye adunan nye lebih bnyk dr biasa. Rasenye ramai dah yg tau buat pancake ni kan, cuma nak share this tips kalau masih ade yg tak tau, yg pancake akan jadi lebih gebu, lembut and spongy kalau kuning and putih telur di asingkan. Putih telur dipukul high speed sampai foamy, then mix last skali ke dalm adunan dgn cara folding method. Then baru la di masak, api jugak mesti kuat, kalau perlahan, pancake tu tamo jadi cantik licin. Selamat mencuba!!
