Japanese Garden..

Ok, this was last week's visit to Japanese Garden, not so much of a joy but for those who love nature, will definitely love this place.. it reminds me of 'Hutan Lipur Lintang' in Malaysia, or known as Templer Park, near my mom's place. We used to go there when we were a kids, you know, mandi sungai hehe..

This is the main entrance, ade la nampak ciri2 ke Jepunan nye kan.. hehe

There's a huge pond, with lots of huge fishes in it.. this is the only thing the kids love to see.. other than that, like Japanese trees and statues, they found them too boring..

Fatini really loves this..

Cafe pun ade...

hehe.. Princess masuk Taman Jepun ler..

Ait?? Dah boring ke?

Overall, the place is very suitable for those who needed mind therapy, or super fresh air, and of course for those who love nature will definitely love this place. But for the kids.... mmmm... not really kot.. I think they'd prefer Playground rather than this..
Pity them, so far, all the places we've ever visited always were boring to them.. maybe we should take them to Disneyland soon.. hehe..

Strawberry Land...

Saturday's visit to Strawberry Land, there's not much to write, but I just want to keep this in here as a special memory..
The weather was great, not too warm, not too cold...
We had gone to the Strawberry land on Saturday morning together with two friends from China, both are University's student.

Berehat seketika after lots and lots of strawberries were picked..

Fatini and her strawberries, she had a great time picking strawberries on her own :)

Aleena's the first person to have a bite on the fresh strawberry... surprisingly sweet, unlike the one's we usually buy in the supermarket.. Now, she's a huge fan of strawberries hehe..

Ni la hasilnya... takmo ambik banyak sgt, takut x abis pulak..

Balik rumah je, terus wat kek coklat with strawberry toppings... yum yum... credit to Sis Hajar for her help on where I should look for a cocoa untuk bake kek coklat.. so menjadi la kek coklat yang sedap ni.. memang puas hati, abis licin dah pun hehehe..

Afeef's new School..

Nowadays, it is an excruciating effort to start writing my blog.. hahaha, ok la stop exaggerating ok??!!...
Ni cerita hari ape pun x brape ingat, basically it happened last week.. Afeef is going to start school soon, in August, so last week there was a sort of 'sesi beramah mesra' between him and his new friends and teachers.. so off we were to this new school which was only bout 15 minutes walking from home.. but, I'm tellin u, mendaki bukit baik punya beb.. camni ade harapan la mama bertambah kurus, yahooooooo!!! dah la kena tolak stroller yang ade dua budak kat atas nye hehe.. just imagine how much callories I would burn per day.. camni, tak yah la gi jogging lagi heheh..

This is the inside of the school... Papa yang anta Afeef masuk classroom, and telupe snap gambar die dlm classroom.. too bad... :(

Parents pulak di bilik menunggu, all Deutche, x bole la nak sembang2 hehe..

But ade la sorang yg bukan Deutsche, he's from Pakistan, dapat la menambah kenalan di bumi Deutschland ni.. he's been in Deutschland for 10 years, speak Deutsch fluently and good English..
Nice..

Bout half an hour, then tamat la sesi beramah mesra ni... That's wat he did in class, kaler2..
When asked, if he likes this school better than his kindergarten now, Afeef just slowly shook his head... ooooowwhh...
I asked him "why?" though I could predict the reason already..
He said, " School ni x de Florian..."
Ok, Florian is his best friend now, they played lots and lots of time together, Afeef had even been in Florian's home twice. Florian's mom was also sad that Afeef is going to start school soon, which means her son would loose his only best friend in kindergarten... there's no other way, because Florian is 5 years old, and it's not possible for him to start school...
Takpela Afeef, Mama doakan Afeef dapat banyak lagi best fren kat school baru ni ok??

Fatini and her lip balm, everywhere pegi mesti bawak ok... aiyoo..

Aleena, die kleine Prinzessin...

Feel so bad that I haven't updated this blog for so long... I'm just not up to it.. I've been spending lots of times trying new pieces on my keyboard..
Nevertheless, there's lots of things to share but they're all rotten now heheh..
Ape pun, I still wanna update a few things bout Aleena.. because she's now able to walk, even though she couldn't walk on her own very far... but this is the beginning.. and last wekend, on the way back from our outing, she refused to sit in the stroller.. she wanted to walk ahah! with a snail's pace hehe..

And another thing, she loves to draw!! but that is not so unusual to me coz all kids love this, but what I found a lil bit extraordinary is the way she holds the pen.. look at her finger..

See?? with two fingers!! Macam budak besar!! Fatini and Afeef never done this when they were 1 year old.. Aleena's the first..

Pandai tongkat dagu jugak heheh

And didn't mind a bit sharing stroller with kakak ngeh ngeh..

Pandai makan biskut dengan penuh gaya hehe..

A Ball is always her interest..

Pandai jugak bergaya camni hehe

She can now say mama, papa, kakak, nak, ape and susu... other than that, ayat suke hati die yg x brape mama faham hehe.. but I can see she's as talkative as Afeef and Fatini :)

Malaysiaku...

"You can take the boy out of the kampung, but you certainly can't take the kampung out of the boy" is a famous catchphrase used by Datuk Lat (elder brother of Mamat Khalid, directed many Malaysian films including box-office Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah) in his Kampong Boy series. The series are narrated in English and translated into other languages such as French and Japanese, and successfully sold abroad (I've not yet found the series in Deutsch but heard that it has been translated into Deutsch as well). It tells a lot of stories about author's childhood and adult experiences in his Kampong (coincidentally one of Kampong in Perak, my homestate). I used to read the series and found it closed to my heart simply because it had many similarities with my Kampong background. Another series that I used to read was Pulau Juoy and the Gang by a cartoonist called Boy PJ (PJ stands for Pulau Juar, a kampong of my late father located near to Teluk Intan, Perak) which used to appear regularly in Gila-Gila magazine not so long ago.

Fast forward, it is neither stories of Datuk Lat nor Boy PJ that I wanna talk here. But it is about the above modified phrase i.e. "You can take the boy out of Malaysia, but you certainly can't take Malaysia out of the boy". I simply want to be that boy who think that there is no better place to live in this world other than Malaysia. It has been more than a year I live abroad in Germany. But honestly I don't subscribe to the idea that living in a developed country is better than Malaysia. To be fair, sure enough there are a lot of things such as transportation, physical development, education system, etc better than Malaysia. And of course for the first timer, you enjoy the wonder of four seasons beginning with spring season with varieties of flowers blossom everywhere, summer with longer daytime for outdoor activities, autumn with colourful leaves fall on the street, and not to forget winter where you experience sub-zero temperature with few inches of snow. But in general, with monsoon seasons, first class infrastructure and third class mentality, racial based policies, lack of freedom of information, etc, still I regard Malaysia as a better place to live in.

Malaysia as a country where you can easily find bunch varieties of foods such as nasi lemak, char kuey teow, pasembor, rojak, rendang, cendol, tempoyak just to name a few. It has a lot of colourful festivals such as Hari Raya, Gong Xi Fa Cai, Deepavali, Christmas, Thaipusam, Weesak and many public holidays. Geographically Malaysia is blessed with long sandy white beaches, beautiful mountainous landscapes, rich rainforest heritage and free from volcanoes and earthquakes. Malaysia is always my proud country.

I always dream Malaysia to be the best place for living. It must be a proud home to every Malaysian regardless of their skin colours. I've met some of my fellow countrymen who have been disillusioned by the so called unfair treatment and biased policies at home. They chose to work and live abroad to the extent giving up their Malaysian citizenships. I truly understand their predicament to seek better opportunity and fair treatment and do hope that they will come back to their beloved country one day. I want my Malaysian brothers and sisters, living in an environment that promotes harmony, respect and tolerance, and not one that bias and oppresses one another. In Malaysia, we should berdiri sama tinggi and duduk sama rendah. I am optimistic that this beautiful country remains in the hands of Malaysians who are honest, sincere, not greedy and capable to make Malaysia a better nation.

Change does not happen overnight. I can’t simply expect things like better education system, fair wages (or negara berpendapatan tinggi), low inflation, stronger democracy and so on to be great and wonderful the next day when I just sit back and see Malaysia from thousands kilometres away. It must be through a concerted effort of everybody to reform, transform or even revolutionize the country. We should stop constantly blaming bad, stupid and racist politicians (on both divides) for failing to carry out change. The fundamental thing is, change actually starts within us. We are the one who vote for those politicians.
Thinking of going back home for voting in the coming election.

God bless Malaysia!
